University Collaboration
The EUATC promotes sustainable development of language services and recognises the power of academia-industry collaboration.
The EUATC and its national association members work in collaboration with academic institutions across Europe on topical themes and projects that promote the value of language services, foster the next generation of language specialists, and help introduce innovative new language services solutions and technologies.
EUATC Academic Ambassador
Forging connections with academic institutions across Europe, the EUATC’s Academic Ambassador facilitates collaboration activities, and works to foster the next generation of language specialists.
The EUATC’s Academic Ambassador also advises and works together with the EUATC’s national associations to facilitate connections between the industry and academia at a local national level.

EMT Network and Beyond
The EUATC is a closely associated with the European Master’s in Translation network and its work in improving the quality of translator training in Europe. The EUATC also endorses the EMT Competence Framework which outlines the key abilities professional translators need.
Not limited to collaboration with universities within the EMT network, the EUATC also has close cooperation with other universities across Europe.
Collaboration between Universities and EUATC National Associations
The EUATC’s network of national associations of language service companies extends to 19 European countries. Many of the national associations collaborate directly with universities within their country and would be happy to consider collaboration or partnership proposals.

Collaboration between Universities and the EUATC
The EUATC is happy to partner with academic institutions on research and practical projects that promote the value of language services, foster the next generation of language specialists, and help introduce innovative new language services solutions and technologies on an European or global scale.
The EUATC brings to a partnership its extensive European and global networks of language service companies, and its deep expertise in the development and delivery of language service solutions.
Project Partnership
The EUATC will consider participation as a project partner on a case-by-case basis, provided that project costs are covered from external project funding.
Dissemination Partnership
The EUATC is happy to act as a formal industry partner to projects, supporting the project conceptually and providing concrete dissemination support.
This kind of dissemination support can include:
- Industry partner role with letters of support
- Dissemination of project participation opportunities
- Dissemination of project outputs and results
The EUATC does not commit to direct project participation (for example, coordination, detailed analysis work, workshops, iterative reviews, or extensive feedback loops) unless this is funded by the project.
