XML Localisation interchange file format

ISO starts the process to create XML Localisation Interchange File Format (XLIFF)

ISO TC37 committee has started the process to create a standard which will include the specifications of the format XLIFF (XML Localisation Interchange File Format), which is a XML-based format of localizable data used by the different CAT tools during the localisation process, created by OASIS in 2002. The idea behind this standard is to define a full specification document supported by ISO to guarantee the data exchanged in the localisation process.

The status of the standard is advanced and passed to the national committees so that they can approved the first draft of those specifications.
