The EUATC is expanding its network of technology partners supporting language service companies (LSCs) across Europe with a new technology partnership with LanguageCheck and its smart and fast AI-powered quality checking technology built on ISO 5060 and MQM principles.
Focusing on solutions to help LSCs navigate the practical implementation of artificial intelligence, the partnership reflects a continued focus within the European language services sector on adopting AI-driven tools that enhance productivity while maintaining quality and professional standards. As LSCs increasingly integrate AI into their workflows, the need for solutions that can be applied in real operational environments rather than remaining at a purely experimental level has become more pronounced.
LanguageCheck positions itself within this space as an AI-powered platform designed to support quality assurance processes. Its core functionality centres on leveraging the power of AI and linguistic analysis in reviewing multilingual content at speed and only flagging up segments that genuinely require further human attention.
From experimentation to operational AI in language services
A key element of the platform is its adaptability to different client needs. LanguageCheck allows users to define custom rules, style preferences, and terminology requirements, enabling alignment with client-specific guidelines or internal quality frameworks. This is particularly relevant for LSCs managing multiple client accounts, each with distinct linguistic and branding expectations. By embedding these requirements into the tool, companies can achieve greater consistency across projects while reducing the manual effort typically required for quality assurance.
Beyond its core linguistic capabilities, LanguageCheck has a strong focus on supporting and enhancing machine translation post-editing (MTPE) workflows. By integrating automated quality checks directly into the post-editing process, the platform aims to “supercharge” MTPE by enabling linguists to identify and resolve errors more efficiently, while maintaining control over final output. This reflects a broader industry move towards optimising MTPE as a scalable production model, where productivity gains must be balanced with consistent and measurable quality outcomes.
Reinventing QA for MTPE with AI
LanguageCheck is not a replacement for LQA tools built into existing CAT tools. It’s a completely new, holistic way of approaching LQA and MTPE, whether you need to analyse and improve existing TM content, edit pure MT or multimodal translated content, or integrate better and faster quality evaluation and scoring with clear metrics and shareable results.
Available as an online tool, and from 2026 via API to leading CAT tools, LanguageCheck provides a meaningful user experience with:
- Wide format support: XLIFF, SDLXLIFF, MQXLIFF, XLF, TXLF
- Any language combination supported
- Quality evaluation, XLSX, and online report – clear metrics and shareable results
- Accuracy check – identifies mistranslations (minor and major mistakes) and shifts in meaning
- Style & grammar review – ensures tone, flow, and correctness
- Terminology control – checks against an approved termbase
- Targeted quality check – highlights only the sentences marked as ‘Needs Improvement’ or ‘Incorrect meaning’, so users don’t need to waste time checking the ‘Flawless’ ones.
Standardised, scalable quality built on MQM and ISO 5060
Importantly, the platform’s quality framework is informed by established industry standards and methodologies, including Multidimensional Quality Metrics (MQM) and ISO 5060 for translation quality evaluation. By aligning its error detection and categorisation logic with these principles, LanguageCheck enables LSCs to apply structured, standardised approaches to quality assessment within AI-assisted workflows. This can support greater comparability of results, clearer communication with clients on quality expectations, and more robust internal quality management practices.
From an operational perspective, LanguageCheck can be applied across multiple stages of the language production process. It highlights potential issues as a self-standing part of an LQA process, and can also provide an additional layer of automated review during final quality checks, clearly labelling and describing any flaws identified. This integrated approach reflects a broader industry shift towards hybrid workflows, where AI supports human expertise rather than replacing it, enabling scalable yet controlled production environments.
The platform also places emphasis on transparency and user control, allowing professionals to review, accept or reject suggestions rather than relying on fully automated changes. This aligns with the requirements of professional language services, where accountability and traceability remain central. In contexts where data security and confidentiality are critical, such as regulated industries or public sector work, the ability to manage how and where AI tools are applied is an important consideration for LSCs evaluating new technologies.
As LSCs are assessing how to implement AI in a structured and sustainable way, some of their key considerations include ensuring data security, maintaining client confidentiality, and aligning AI use with existing quality standards and contractual requirements. Tools that provide transparency, controllability and adaptability are therefore of particular interest to companies seeking to move beyond ad hoc experimentation towards more systematic deployment.
Building a greater shared understanding
Through this partnership, the EUATC aims to facilitate greater awareness and understanding of practical AI applications among its member associations and their member companies. Technology partnerships play a role in connecting LSCs with solution providers, while also enabling informed discussions about how tools can be applied in real business contexts.
For LanguageCheck, engagement with the EUATC network provides access to a broad cross-section of the European language services market. This includes companies operating across different sectors, service types and levels of technological maturity. Such exposure can support further development of solutions that respond to the specific needs of professional language service providers.
The partnership underlines an ongoing evolution within the language services industry, where AI is becoming an integral component of service delivery. For LSCs, the focus is increasingly on identifying tools that can be integrated effectively into existing processes, delivering measurable gains in efficiency while preserving the linguistic quality and domain expertise that underpin professional services.
As EUATC continues to expand its technology partner network, collaborations such as this are intended to support the sector in making informed, practical and sustainable use of emerging technologies.
