The four national associations from Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia that founded Meet Central Europe (MCE) with the support of the EUATC last year, are continuing their strategy of collaboration across the language industry eco-system.

Following on the announcement last month that the European Commission is supporting the next MCE taking place in Prague 10/11 October, the organisers have announced that tekom Europe is lining up alongside the event too.

In a joint statement tekom Europe and Meet Central Europe said: "We are launching this new collaboration to provide both of our communities with a larger variety of topics relevant to the profession of translators and, more specifically, technical translators and people working in technical communication. We believe that both tekom members and MCE attendees share common interests and can benefit from synergies created through our collaboration."

tekom Europe is the largest professional association for technical communication worldwide, connecting about 9,000 professionals who are active in technical communication or in other areas of information development. tekom Europe offers a platform for the exchange of information and experience, promotes education and training, and supports the professional development of its members.

The tekom Europe event will be held in the afternoon of October 9, the day before the Meet Central Europe conference. All participants and other interested persons are invited to join free of charge. As a bonus, tekom members receive a special discount of 10% to attend the Meet Central Europe conference. In order to get the special discount for the conference, please use the discount code MCE2019TEKOM.

Topics of the tekom Europe event will focus on technical translation and technical communication. We are still working on the program. If you would like to contribute with a presentation, please apply to: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
