"The new association will start operations with five of the most important LSPs operating in India. Apart from BITS Private Limited, these are Mayflower Language Services, Crystal Hues, Braahmam and Fidel Tech.
"The new association will be affliated with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce. The new association will be making representations through the Federation to the Indian government, which has such an impact on the language industry.
"In the first instance, because the Indian market is so fragmented, we will not be setting entry criteria too high. Very few LSPs are ISO accredited yet. However, our longterm aim is to educate and raise the threshold gradually.
"We will be launching with the five most influential LSPs, but the founding members believe that membership potential could be between 100 and 150 companies," Sandeep told T-UPDATE.
