Italian association signs intern agreement

The EUATC's Italian member UNILINGUE has signed an agreement with the University of Venice to support undergraduates develop careers in the language industry.

The prime purpose of the agreement between UNILINGUE and Ca’ Foscari University of Venice is the creation of new highly qualified and professional internship opportunities for students. However, the collaboration seeks to go further with the organisation of cultural and educational events such as workshops, debates and seminars aimed at the student community, teaching staff and to professionals in the sector.

Before the agreement was signed by Dr Mirko Silvestrini, President of UNILINGUE, and the unversity rector Tiziana Lippiello, a video message from the President of EUATC, Heike Leinhäuser, pictured left, speaking in Italian was screened in which she said: “I was delighted to learn of the intern agreement struck between UNILINGUE and the University of Venice. Through EMT, the European Masters in Translation network, the EUATC has long been working to strengthen links between academia and the commercial language sector. I am certain that this excellent agreement will quickly become a trend-setting benchmark for other national LSC associations and universities elsewhere in Europe. All involved are to be whole heartedly congratulated.”
