Finns and EUATC team up for summit

The EUATC has teamed up with its Finnish member SKY to mount the Helsinki Language Summit.

The event, which has the backing of the European Commission’s Directorate General for Translation, takes place from the 12th to 13th September in Helsinki’s Radisson Blu Seaside Hotel.

Inevitably, the Summit will be exploring the impact of the rapid advances in technology on all facets of the industry. There will be a mix of presentations from experts and deep dive panel discussion sessions. It will also feature a Jobs Fair and a Translating Europe Workshop.

Speaking about the joint venture, Erik Miller, President of SKY commented: “The language industry landscape is changing so rapidly there has never been a greater need to come together with our peers, take stock, hear from experts and really understand the threats, while getting to grips with the opportunities that the advances in technology present to the sector.”
