EUATC President Heike Leinhäuser was pleased to strengthen the links with FIT Europe by accepting an invitation to speak at its conference, which took place at Eötvös Loránd University, Faculty of Art in Budapest.
Her talk, From middlemen to partners: Redefining the role of agencies in translation, explored how the relationship between freelance translators and agencies is evolving in today’s AI-driven market.
The session highlighted the importance of closer collaboration to tackle challenges and embrace new opportunities, paving the way for a more cooperative future in the industry.
At the same conference, Inkaliisa Vihonen (pictured) from the European
Commission’s Directorate General Translation, presented the results of the joint Visibility Campaign driven by the LIND Expert Group with critical input from FIT Europe and the EUATC. The campaign is aimed at inspiring secondary school students to pursue language studies and consider careers in our profession.
