Jean-Paul succeeds as President of BQTA following the retirement of Lionbridge’s Rudy Tirry.
Speaking about his predecessor and his hopes for his own tenure at the head of the EUATC’s Belgian member, Jean-Paul Dispaux, who is General Manager of IDEST Communication SA, said:
“It will not be an easy task to replace Rudy Tirry, former chairman of BQTA and EUATC. He greatly contributed to promoting not only the business of translation but also the translator’s condition, having started out as a translator.
“Over a distinguished career he went on to become a universally recognized and respected figure of the translation industry nationally and internationally. We will miss him greatly!
“The goals of the new BQTA board will be to further promote the industry, continue reinforcing the ties with the Belgian Chamber of Translators and Interpreters (CBTI) and with universities in order to reinforce the status of all who work within the sector.”
