…and the winners are…Meet Central Europe!

Meet Central Europe takes initiative award.

Meet Central Europe, the regional conference, which was kick-started with a grant from the EUATC and this year takes place in Budapest 17 – 19 October, has won the first EUATC Association Initiative Award. The accolade was presented by Christos Ellinides, Acting Director General of the European Commission’s DGT during an awards evening on the first day of the Ethical Business Summit held in London.

Here’s what the independent panel of judges, Carrie Livermore Fischer, Women in Localization (top right), Allison Ferch, Globalization and Localization Association (GALA) and Josef Kubovský, Nimdzi Insights said about MCE Conference, which was a joint submission from the four EUATC members: the Austrian Association of Translation Companies (AATC); the Association of Czech Translation Agencies (ACTA); the Association of Professional Language Service Providers (Proford) and the Association of Translation Companies of Slovakia (ATC SK).

“We were impressed by all the collaboration happening right across Europe and it was genuinely difficult to separate the nominations from the dozen associations that entered. However, the MCE conference ticked so many of the boxes, particularly when it comes to collaboration, it managed to edge out all the other truly impressive initiatives to win the Award.”

The commended nominations were:

Belgian Quality Translation Association (BQTA)

Association of Professional Language Service Providers (Proford)

Associazione Nazionale di Imprese di Servizi Linguistici (Uniligue)
