The results and analysis of the 2026 European Language Industry Survey (ELIS) will be presented as part of a Translating Europe Workshop hosted by the European Commission. It will take place place on Tuesday, 17th March between 16:00 and 17:30 CET, with an overview provided by Christos Ellinides, Director of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Translation.
The main task of outlining the results and analysis will fall to Director of ELIS research Rudy Tirry, supported by EMT‘s Alexandra Krause and John O’Shea, Chairperson of FIT Europe.
Panellists providing expert comment and dealing with questions from the audience will include senior representatives from ELIS partners: the EUATC‘s President Marta Aragão, Allison Ferch, Executive Director GALA Global, European Commission Policy Coordinator, Inkaliisa Vihonen and Elia’s Diego Cresceri. A senior representative from ELIS partner Women in Localization will complete the panel line-up and will be announced shortly.
Also, since the annual survey, now into its 13th year, is concerned with the language industry’s future, there will be at least two additional panellists drawn from students undertaking degree courses in translation and or interpreting from universities in the EMT network.
