In previous ELIS editions all types of industry stakeholders clearly expressed their concerns about the impact of AI and other language technologies on their activities. ELIS 2025 continues to monitor these sentiments, but focuses more on how independent professionals, language service companies, language departments and training institutes are dealing with the new challenges.
Commenting, Director of ELIS Research Rudy Tirry (pictured) said: “A rapidly changing professional reality also requires an active development of new talent. By zooming in on the practice of internships, generally considered as a useful means to prepare students for their professional futures, ELIS 2025 will help make this an even more effective pathway for them.
“And there is more to discover in optional topics such as HR, strategy, finances, outsourcing and technology” he concluded.
The 2025 edition of the ELIS survey will go live on Wednesday, 1st January 2025 and will remain open until close of business on Friday, 31st January.
The results will be available mid–March and will be announced and discussed at a free-to-attend Translating Europe Workshop webinar on 18th March 2025. Survey participants will be able to pre-register for the event after submitting their responses to the survey.
